Similis – Locate Duplicated and Mirrored Files
The integration of SImilis into security applications provides technology partners with ‘added value’ solutions, offering customers protection against illegal, illicit, offensive or unwanted content. By applying a series of algorithms, Similis is able to match one image to other images with matching content. Image copies with up to 50% change from the original image can be identified as being a match. Similis can be used with video scanner to detect a number of files within another video file, finding duplicated movies or pirated pre-release screeners. Similis uses an image fingerprinting system to find a matching frame, or a frame with very similar content and characteristics. This combination can be used in strengthening current data tracking systems which help with monitoring users’ contributions to shares content websites, and assist in the removal of problem content.
