Overview
A sophisticated image scanning software engine, trained over a period of many years to recognize pornographic and offensive imagery. The module's image filter engine analyses the composition of images in all the popular file formats and utilizes 'contextual analysis' to determine their nature.
The engine is quick, processing data at speeds of 4-5Mb per second (Approx 1 Image every 0.2 of a second), accurate, proven to be 90-95% accurate in terms of false positives and negatives in independent testing, and the software footprint is small less than 500k.
The core engine of the ICA Image Filter is 'imfil.dll'. This module comprises 7 engines which combine their analysis of body, face, foreground, background, luminosity, edge, and texture to return a value, indicating the potential offensive nature, which can then be interpreted by a customer's own architecture.
Applications
The module is supplied as a DLL or with an API which allows the engine to be easily incorporated within an existing filtering architecture or called to return a value which can then be interpreted in a new product structure. To date the Image filter module has been integrated simply into all of the following:
- Internet level HTTP and SMTP scanning solutions
- Corporate server based solutions
- Home user and SME Client based solutions
- Mobile Phone Operator server environments
- Gateway Appliances
- ISP Downloaded solutions
- Microchip solutions for appliances
Supported Operating Systems
The image filter has been designed to be cross platform enabled, supporting Windows, Linux and UNIX operating systems.
